warts

skin wart how to treat

Warts are a skin disease characterized by the formation of small tumor-like growths on the surface of the skin.

Wart sizes vary. Formations can be the size of a pin needle and can reach the size of a ruble coin.

The disease is viral in nature and is transmitted by direct contact or through household items used by sick and healthy people at the same time.

Usually, these growths cause psychological discomfort, as often the places of their location are visible parts of the body. Warts can be treated with pharmaceutical drugs, folk remedies, or hardware procedures.

Varieties of warts

  • common (simple) - round shaped grayish-brown nodules with a rough surface. These warts usually occur on the hands, face, and scalp. Widespread in children and adults. Simple warts do not cause pain, but they are quite unpleasant from an aesthetic point of view, as they can form entire colonies of benign tumor-like formations;
  • Plantar warts - occur, as the name implies, on the plantar surface. In appearance, they resemble calluses, consist of filiform papillae surrounded by horny layers. The reasons why plantar warts appear include constant pressure from shoes and the formation of an unfavorable microclimate in the area of the soles. When walking, such formations generate painful emotions and need proper treatment;
  • Flat warts are small lumps that barely protrude above the surface of the skin. They have a yellowish or fleshy color and are most often seen in juveniles. Flat warts form on the hands and face. As a rule, they are absolutely painless;
  • venereal warts (condylomas) - got this name due to the fact that they are transmitted during sexual contact and affect, respectively, the external genitalia.

The main reason for the appearance of warts in humans is a viral lesion of the skin. The pathogen is transmitted to healthy people through direct contact with a carrier of the virus or through household items. Also, sweating of the skin, minor injuries, burns and some other factors can contribute to the condition. So, for example, plantar warts are easy to spot when visiting the pool or showering at the gym.

wart treatment

Currently, the methods of combating warts are often divided into medical and surgical. The first ones involve the use of ointments, the use of antiviral drugs, applications of destructive chemicals. All these actions have a relatively low efficiency and can only help in case of the appearance of unique formations and even then in the initial stages. For this reason, the modern treatment of warts is based on the use of surgical methods, which, in turn, are divided into:

  • surgical;
  • cryodestruction methods;
  • radio wave surgery;
  • operations performed with the help of laser technology.

The first two methods are characterized by a painful operation and a long healing period. Also, if not used correctly, they can lead to scarring and the reappearance of warts. Radio waves and laser surgery overcome these shortcomings and provide patients with quick, bloodless and painless treatment for warts on the hands, soles and other parts of the body.

Warts - folk treatment

A bandage with ointment is applied to them, which is used until the wounds are completely healed;
